Entry requirements
Undergraduate
- HSC with GPA 3.5+ (A-Levels or an international foundation year for top-ranked universities)
- IELTS 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5 (UKVI Academic for below-degree level)

Postgraduate
- Bachelor's degree with CGPA 2.75–3.0+ depending on university; three-year degrees accepted by many

Work rights & post-study options
Degree-level students may work up to 20 hours per week in term time and full-time during vacations. After graduating, the Graduate Route allows around two years of unrestricted work in the UK (three for PhD graduates) with no sponsor required.
Frequently asked questions
How much money must I show for the UK student visa?
First-year tuition (minus anything already paid on your CAS) plus living costs of £1,483 per month for London or £1,136 elsewhere, for up to nine months. The funds must sit untouched in an acceptable account for 28 consecutive days, and parental sponsorship requires proof of relationship and a consent letter.
Will a study gap hurt my UK application?
Usually not, if it is explained. Most universities accept two to three years of gap for postgraduate applicants, and longer gaps supported by work experience or professional study are considered — the key is a statement of purpose that accounts for the time convincingly.
Is IELTS the only accepted English test?
No — many universities accept OIETC, PTE, Duolingo or a Medium of Instruction assessment for degree-level study. IELTS UKVI remains mandatory for foundation and pre-sessional routes, and a solid IELTS score still strengthens the overall file.
Can I bring my family on a UK student visa?
Only postgraduate research students (such as PhD candidates) and government-sponsored scholars may bring dependants; taught master's students generally cannot. We flag this early so families can plan realistically.
